DESCRIPTION:
Indigo ll is designed by Peter Wormwood and custom built by Brook Boats in 1989 and offers the advantages of sailing aboard a large multihull, namely very high speed and the comfort of a wide stable platform which does not heel but provide vast, airy, light interior space and expansive deck area.
Guests are accommodated in three air-conditioned cabins with full queen size beds and private ensuite shower rooms. The very large saloon opens directly onto a big shaded deck cockpit seating up to eight for al fresco dining, while the deck saloon provides panoramic vision with none of the down below feeling of conventional sailing yachts.
The beautiful rotating 86 foot wing mast and hi-tech Spectra mainsail ensure exhilarating performance, 'Indigo' has proven to be one of the Caribbean's fastest with speeds in excess of 15 knots.
Indigo's spacious main saloon measures 25' x 15' (7.60m x 4.60m) and has eight tinted windows, three opening hatches and a 10' x 6'4" (3m x 2m) sliding door opening onto the cushioned deck cockpit seating eight around two tables which open into a 7' 6" (2.35m) dining table. There are no ladders or stairs between these two areas giving an astonishing 23' x 25' (7m x 7.60m) entertaining space with dim able halogen lights, panoramic views and protection form the elements. Inside the saloon a comfortable semi-circular white sofa seats up to six and three rotating arm chairs, a desk/chart table, a dining table for six with high chairs, a TV/VCR and a stereo system complete the unusually large reception area with varnished teak and holly floor.
The owner's cabin is 10' x 15' (3m x 4.6m) and had a 5' (1.5m) wide queen size berth, a dressing table, two wardrobe cupboards and bookshelves. It is air-conditioned and has two opening oval portholes, two opening deck hatches and fan. The floor is teak and holly. Door to shower room with built in washbasin in teak counter with vanity mirror and storage above and below, a fresh water electrically flushing automatic toilet with opening porthole over and a large separate stall shower with an opening hatch.
The two identical guest cabins measure 7' x 10' (2.20m x 3m) and have 5' (1.5m) wide queensize berths. They air air-conditioned and each has opening oval portholes and two opening hatches and a fan. Floors are teak and holly. Door to shower room with built in washbasin in teak counter with vanity mirror and storage above and below, a fresh water, electricity flushing automatic toilet, a shower with teak grate and access to additional storage plus an opening hatch which provides unusually light and airy accommodation for three couples on a roughly equal basis, with all three cabins having identical queen size berths. No cabin or shower shares a common bulkhead with another cabin, providing unusual privacy.
The crew have two cabins and a shower which are completely separate and at a distance from the guests.
Interior decoration is paint complimented by varnished wood furniture and teak and holly floors. Sofas and chairs are covered in light coloured quality fabrics.
